"There are so many people out there who have their own interpretation of our calendar system. They are free to say what they want, and they may even be right in their own way, but they should not say they are representing the Mayan people."So, let people just talk about 'December 21, 2012,' and don't be deluded into any doomsday theories or stories.
"We don't speak about 2012. This is how you interpret our calendar in your Gregorian system. We ourselves only speak about Year Zero. And although we cannot say that it will happen exactly in 2012, we understand the signs that precede this event and we know that the time is very close."
